The Assistant Clinical Professor Diabetes Patient Care Clinics Program Manager is a full-time, non-tenure track appointment at the University of the Pacific, Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy (PHS). The faculty serves as a member in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and is eligible for annual reappointment.

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to help create and maintain the infrastructure for a community-based program targeting individuals with pre-diabetes/diabetes. This faculty will provide program oversight, coordination, and training opportunities for pharmacy students and other health care professionals/students. This faculty will also be expected to teach and/or precept pharmacy students in medication therapy management, diabetes, immunizations, and cardiovascular care. In addition, this faculty will be expected to be heavily involved in service activities in/around the Stockton community. Other faculty responsibilities will be assigned, as needed, at the discretion of the Program Director of the Patient Care Clinics. The Non-Tenure Track role will be hired as an annual potentially renewable appointment.

  • Must be licensed as a Registered Pharmacist in California
  • D. with residency and/or fellowship, or equivalent experience is required


A strong background in general pharmacotherapy and pharmacy practice is required. High priority areas of expertise include diabetes, immunizations, cardiovascular therapeutics, ambulatory care/clinical pharmacy, medication therapy management and healthcare outcomes.

Research, public health, and biostatistics knowledge/experience is desirable. Postgraduate training (e.g., residency or fellowship), previous teaching experience, extensive community outreach and relevant practice experience is highly desirable.

Abel to work in a typical clinical environment

Fluency is another language is desirable.
